Great Spanish Restaurant in Ottawa!

Last weekend, I had the great fortune to attend my former student's wedding.  It was a very emotional event due in part because Kevin was marrying his male partner, Andrew and Kevin's parents have yet to accept Kevin and Andrew's love.  I was happy to play the role of surrogate parent and dance with Kevin to a great song from Glee (we both love this show).  I also had the pleasure of seeing some former students with whom I have been reacquainted.    I wish Kevin and Andrew the very best in their new life together.

After the reception, the doctor and I found a great restaurant next door to the wedding reception venue called Navarra.  It is located at 93 Murray Street in the Ottawa market.  The decor resembles a cozy boite that one may stumble upon while strolling down a narrow street in Madrid.  The food has a Spanish base that is tweaked with Mexican chilis that leave a spicy, tangy, explosion of flavor in your mouth.  And the presentation of these delicious combos?  Don't get me started!
Our waiter, Roberto, who hails from Mexico and is one of the owners, explained each scrumtious item on my plate before I tasted this heavenly fare.  Once I blended all of the sauces, meats and spices together on my fork, I slowly moved the utensil to my lips so I could savor each delicious mouthful.  I miss Europe every day so to have an incredible meal that resembles the food of Spain, is always a treat for me.  Please visit their website: http://www.navarrarestaurant.com where you can feast your eyes on the gorgeous food and staff.  Yes, the bonus of this restaurant is the gorgeous staff.  If I were 30 years younger and not happily married, I would have chased Roberto around the kitchen! Que lindo!

So if you don't have the funds to travel to Spain or Mexico, drive to Ottawa and spend a lovely day shopping at the market and eating at Navarra's.  Ole'!
